Speed and turbo tournaments
Speed and turbo tournaments are tournaments that are created for players who can't place hours into playing tournaments, with blinds increasing faster that normal tournaments offer.
You start with 1,500 chips at the start of the tournament and you have to adapt into the game alot quicker than you would a standard tournament.
This style of tournament requires a more aggressive approach to hands than any other style of tournament.
Short-handed tournaments
Inspired by the World Series, PKR is one of the only online poker rooms that allows you to experience this fast tournament format, which combines the speed and skill of a single table tournament with the larger payouts of a larger scale tournament.
Deep stack tournaments
Created to offer players the opportunity to real play some poker, starting chips are doubled to 3,000 chips.
All deepstack tournaments are created as freeze out tournaments meaning that once your knocked out, your out.
This is because deep stack tournaments tend to take longer than standard tournaments due to the chip stacks that are started with.
Terminator tournaments
Terminator tournaments are great fun, offer up to 50% of the prize money as a bounty on every player in the tournament.
This means that for each player that you eliminate you will instantly paid your bounty into your player account.
Definately a style of tournament that should be experienced, offering you the opportunity to make your buy in back without even placing in the finals.
Phase tournaments
Phase tournaments offer players the opportunity to play for large prize pools in a sit and go environment.
Double Thru tournaments
Based on the highly successful sit and go style of poker tournaments, these are only available for tables with 10 players.
This style offers 5 players the opportunity to double their buy in just for reaching the final 5.
The tournament finished once there are 5 remaining players, all taking a 20% share of the winnings.
Winner Takes All tournaments
Sit and go style tournaments that take the gamble of playing them to the extreme, offering only one paying place.
The tournament starts with 6 players, with the last player standing taking 100% of the prize money.
Break Thru tournaments
A tournament that is created in the style of a multi table tournament (MTT) that offers a fast and intense dash for the winning positions.
All players that reach the paying positions will recieve the same amount of winnings except for the winnner.
This means that once the bubble bursts on a player, players frantically up their game and become more aggressive in a bid to finish in the top spot.
Placing in the paying positions means that you will at least treble your buy in!
Rebuy tournaments
Rebuy tournaments offer players the opportunity to buy back into a tournament after been knocked out, either by a better hand or on a bad beat.
Rebuy option is available to players who have below the starting amount of chips up to the first break which is usually an hour into the tournament.
Some tournaments offer a limited amount of rebuy's per player, so go easy with them as making rash calls to try to get your chips back will be costly.
All money that is placed to rebuy into the tournament is placed into the prize pool that will be shared between the placing players at the end.
Double and Triple chance tournaments
Only PKR offer Double and Triple Chance tournaments that let you divide your starting stack into either 2 or 3 piles, playing one stack at a time means that you have the opportunity to space your playing out, reducing the chances of been called on your all in and been knocked out of a tournament.
Points Tournaments
Point tournaments are offered with buy in fee been taken from your PKR points and also offer the prizes in PKR points.
PKR points won in these tournaments can be used to buy new items, clothes or tricks for your avatar, buy PKR branded goodies from the PKR store or to enter into freeroll competitions.
Points that are won in these tournaments don't count towards your bonus unlock points that need to be accumulated.
